Between palm trees and next to the beautiful blue sea of the Côte d’Azur, the 50th Midem, one of the biggest international music industry events, took place from June 3 - 6 in Cannes, France. The event was packed with talks, panels, concerts, competitions and networking events to forge business connections, promote music, sign deals and discover trends, talent and services. That’s why Midem is known as a premier event for all players from across the international music ecosystem, from music biz, tech pros and brands to indie/major labels and artists - and all of that since 1967.

Conferences & Concerts

For four days leading industry players shared their experience and vision for the music business and evaluated the current situation as well as the future of the global music industry. Popular topics were Streaming, YouTube, Crowdsourcing and Blockchain technology.

Long days became long and fun nights, accompanied by a colorful program of live performances by headlining artists 2manydjs, Calypso Soundsystem, Etienne de Crécy, all 12 finalists of Midem artist accelerator and many more.

Midem Artist Accelerator

The Midem Artist Accelerator is an exclusive program for artists, featuring a range of curated networking and mentoring opportunities with key players of the international music industry. The 12 finalists were happy to perform live at Midem. This year’s winner, Brazilian band “Far From Alaska” received their award at the Midem gala event.

Midemlab is the leading international launch pad for cutting-edge startups in the wider creative industries, whose innovative solutions help build new user experiences for the music sector. From more than 150 submissions, 20 finalists in 3 categories had been hand-picked by Midemlab Partners Atomico, Bluenove and Music Ally. At Midem the finalists pitched their companies in front of a jury of potential partners and investors as well as the Midem audience.
