Stagelink wins Midemlab Startup Competition
This weekend, event crowdsourcing platform Stagelink was elected as one of three winners of the 2016 Midemlab startup competition at the 50th Midem music industry trade show in Cannes, France. With 1,100 exhibiting companies from 75 countries and 5,500 participants, Midem is the leading annual international music event gathering key players from the music ecosystem to forge business connections and to explore current music trends since 1967.
In the Midemlab startup competition, Stagelink prevailed over six other startups in the category “Marketing, Social Engagement & Monetisation Solutions“. Meanwhile, two other companies Mimi Hearing and MIND Music Labs succeeded in “Music Discovery, Recommendation & Creation Services” and “Hardware / Internet of Things“ respectively. All winners will be meeting with leading music industry investors and receive free legal advice next to a valuable PR boost.
Jérôme Delhaye, Director of Entertainment Division at Reed MIDEM, explained why the jury - consisting of high-profile executives from Sony Music Entertainment, Deezer, Venture Beat, Connect Ventures, NUMA and TuneCore - picked Stagelink as the category winner: "Stagelink convinced the jury with a clear focus on a highly attractive market segment and a simple, effective engagement and monetization solution."
